Well, it's finally 2011! Time to put to bed the year in real estate that was 2010 (not a great one by national standards, but much better in Sequoyah Hills than 2009). I love the opportunity to restart the clock on what's going on in my life - work, exercise, eating, family, and just about everything else. Depending on how long I can keep it up, I feel like I can make substantial changes by taking it one day at a time, starting with January 1st.
This year at the forefront are my eating habits. I've always been able to pretty much eat whatever I want, but this year for the first time I started to notice a definite change in the fit of my pants towards the tail-end of the holidays. Since a new wardrobe is out of the question, it looks like changes will have to be made on the "input" side of the equation. I've decided that I still should be able to eat as much as I want, I just can't eat WHAT I want. So out are bread, cheese, refined sugar of the candy, cookie and baked goods variety, and (gulp) beer. This pretty much defined my entire diet over the last three months, so it will be interesting to see how long it lasts. Day two and still going strong... : )
Good luck to everyone in 2011, and an extra bit of good luck to keep your resolutions as long as possible. Remember the ancient Chinese saying, "A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step". Or as the the Winter Warlock learned in "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", just "put one foot in front of the other, and soon you'll be walking out the door"!
Thanks Rich!
I've always liked the Chinese saying "A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step". Thanks for the reminder.
Not sure if anyone else would agree, but I think you are eliminating almost all of the food groups. LOL
Remember - moderation is the key to life!
